Nightshade Free Ketchup (DF, GF, V, AIP)

This recipe is enough to batch cook to save for later.

This is a great alternative to sugar laden ketchup that uses tomatoes and other nightshades. Nightshades cause inflammation to the gut and can cause a lot of issues like bloating, fatigue, rashes, and mood changes. Not to mention if you have an allergy to tomatoes. This is one of the better recipes I have come up with when it comes to ketchup. It’s the closest thing! And super delicious.

Nightshade Free Ketchup (DF, GF, V, AIP)

Allergy friendly ketchup that's actually delicious

Course: Snack

Ingredients
  • 1 16oz bag baby carrots
  • 2 small precooked beets
  • 1 small sweet onion or 1/2 cup chopped
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2/3 cup filtered water
  • 2 tsp pink himalayan salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
Instructions
  1. Steam carrots and onion until soft and tender. Add all the ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth and there are no chunks.

  2. This is enough to make a batch. I like to keep a small amount in the fridge and store the rest in small containers for the freezer for later use.
